Just now, I received news that my officemate just gave birth to her third child - a son. This week onwards, there are so many officemates and my sister that are due to give birth. So everywhere I turn, there is someone's pregnant. I recognized a colleague that she is pregnant but she denied it last week. But yesterday, she told me that I guessed right. I said how far along is it. She did not answered but I suspect for quite awhile.
I am currently reading Lie Down With Lions by Ken Follet. It is one of his earliest work but still enjoyable. The only time I open the book is during lunch time but the story is very engaging. Unfortunately I need to work on my master's assignments at full throttle to ensure I finish on time with time to spare. I hate doing it last minute because usually my body will weaken itself at that time.
For several weeks I have been foraging blogs of a craft Yahoo! group members I am in and making me want to knit (on-going shawl), crochet and tatting (both planning on bookmarks only). Anyway, here are some I have done. The blue bookmark I made several years ago which I'm planning to give to an intern who is finishing this Friday. The other bookmark was done recently while waiting for me to purchase the yarn and knitting needles.

Dearest A
I have enjoyed the few times that we went out together - the concerts and buka puasa. I hope there will be more of those this year - concerts and perhaps the two movies I am anticipating: the second sequel to The Mummy (Brendan Fraser) and the fourth installment of Indiana Jones.
But after the last one, I told myself this is the end. You scared me with your reckless driving and the answers to my questions. I knew you had a very tough week at work and I did not say anything to aggravate the situation. So I stayed silence in agony.
But then, you caught me by surprise yesterday. I had enjoyed the chat during lunch time to catch up on things. And also to complain about people at work.
I hope you were joking when you want to catch the Backstreet Boys here in Sunway Pyramid (I enjoyed their songs years back but not sure about their latest album). I would love to go for the outing but for them - errr, will see.

Chinese New Year weekend
We returned to Hyatt Kuantan for the weekend (as we did back in 2006). This time round, there is the addition of two new sister-in-laws and 3-months-old Amelia. Getting out of KL was very hectic - the jam was way back from Gombak. The weather was perfect, except for a slight rain on the highway.
Our stay was for three days and two nights. I stocked up on the drinks and snacks - which was aplenty. One room was away from the rest since we could not get a whole block to ourselves. I managed a dip in the pool before afternoon cocktail. Marina came in quite late but I think the kids played on the beach for a very short while.
The next day, we spent out from morning to around 1am. Hasnah enjoyed having the wave crashing her legs, later her buttocks while sitting down. Imran was more hesitant - but he finally was coaxed by having dad 'falling down' in the wave. They played sand until we were too tired to do anything else. Before cocktail, I managed another dip alone in the swimming pool. That night, we had dinner at a seafood restaurant joined by Anuar's in-laws and sister-in-law.
Back to KL, both Hasnah and me got sun burns on our shoulders. I am still prickling at work and dare not go out for lunch and getting hot and sweaty. There are not many who turned up to work today thus very quiet and no urgency to do anything - for this whole week at least. Tomorrow night, having guests at home. She will be bringing our new maid to help out with the household.
This is also my first time of reading two books at the same time. The only reason is because the book, To Ride a Wild Pony is not yet published and its on the web at theNEXTbigWRITER site written by Diana Cadfael Hockley who is a member of a Yahoo! group I am in. The only time I'm reading the book on-line is during work (since work has been very quiet lately).

My Creativity Monster is Awakened
I have not knitted/crocheted/tatted/quilted for many years. Last week, Emily posted a new journal in her blog of many tatting pieces. From there on, as the saying goes is history. Yesterday, I went over to Taipan USJ and purchase the yarn and needle to make a shawl (which should come in handy in these air conditioned rooms or perhaps to Bukit Tinggi or Cameron).
Originally, I wanted to do this pattern by Lähettänyt Arteeni , but then I don't know how to read the chart:
Finally ended up doing the Lace Leaf Shawl shown at this blog journal, since its using the old format of giving directions (in words, well abbreviations). Once I get my hands on the camera, I will post the one I'm doing.
My studies? Its doing fine - actually I'm ahead of schedule. I have most of the literature required which I will be using but just need to request some inputs from the 'experts'. This semester's assignment will be the initial work for my master's project. First, I wanted to do something on blogging, but then agreed with Prof Rahmah that its contemporary. Then, moved on to FaceBook - seems interesting but lost interest. Now, I'm seriously thinking of doing something on BookCrossing or PostCrossing - the gratification of 'real life' with on-line socializing. The details still need to be worked out but it is something along the line.
This semester will be very different - classes are only for three hours on Sundays and just five times. At the moment, there will be no exams (R E L I E F). Plus, dad is also teaching at the same slot. So we shall go together. But the down part is that I have to wake up real early since he wants to leave by 7 (GULP!).
