The Playmat Part 1
What I love about quilting (beside my love for fabric and that we can cuddle in it), is that it will make me do one of my dreadest chore - the ironing. In quilting you have to do a lot of ironing. The first step and after every sewing, you need to iron. So this is the heap of laundry since don't know when. It is still high but there is still many ironing to be done for this quilt.

Since I could not do much on my master's thesis, I have began the quilt over the after-Christmas weekend. I did not realize that at the end, the blocks are so small (about 2 inches) but I dare not make it too big since I have never used a triangular shape in my quilts. It was only squares, hexagon and some applique which is a different story of itself. Sewed the two triangles to make 190 squares. But only 50 was ironed and trimmed using the square bias ruler. It is a fantastic equipment. There is no pictures of it since I forgot to take it last night. Instead, here is after the cleaning, rearranging, and putting up the table for the machine.

In between, I've played around on the design wall to find the right design for the quilt.

Oooh - just saw the pinwheel was placed wrong. Need to watch that during the actual piecing if I end up using this design.

Looking at the designs, I like the above and the bottom design out of the three in the batch of three designs above.
